DATES 1 - 4 MAY 2014.

Details will appear on our festival website -

We started our festival in April 2008 and have been delighted to see it grow into a major highlight of Hampshire’s cultural calendar.  It is the county’s only annual festival dedicated solely to professional chamber music and we invite top guest artists each year to perform alongside us.  The Artistic Directors are Kate Gould, who was born in Winchester and received her formative musical training there, and Daniel Tong. Guests over the years have included Lucy Gould, Robert Plane, Ania Safonova, Matthew MacDonald, Sara Bitlloch, Krysia Osostowicz, Malin Broman, Alice Neary and David Adams, Esther Hoppe, Richard Lester and Krzysztof Chorzelski.

For our seventh Festival in May this year we will be joined by more wonderful guests; Michael Gurevich, Benjamin Marquise Gilmore and the Heath Quartet. Our principal themes for 2014 are Beethoven, Schumann & Brahms and Russian chamber music. Concerts will be complemented by a master class, open rehearsal, discussion with festival artists and, as ever, our outreach project with local primary schools, led by Sam Glazer and Jack Ross. We can't wait for the music to start!

Audience members tell us that as well as the music, a treasured feature of the Festival for them is its informality and intimacy. Nothing could make us more happy. This includes the musicians introducing some of the concerts, audience chatting with us before the concert, in interval breaks and over a drink at the nearby Festival Club.

Come along in May if you want to experience top class chamber music and a relaxed and convivial atmosphere in a venue where you can get close to the action.
